This registered Maine Coon cat/kitten is being sold as a pet. This kitten is to be spayed/neutered by 7 months of age. No registration papers will be released until written proof from your vet is on file with us.
2. Katzen states to the best of their knowledge, at the time of purchase the kitten is in good health, FeLV/FIV negative, and free of any life threatening illnesses, infections and parasites. Katzen requires Buyer to have kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within three (3) business days of the contract agreement date. We cannot control what your kitten may be exposed to and contract after it leaves us. Should this kitten/cat die an untimely death due to a Genetic or congenital defect within one (1) year of purchase date, Buyer agrees to accept a replacement kitten of equal value once one becomes available. This is at the discretion of Katzen. In order to qualify for this guarantee, Buyer must provide Katzen with all medical history reports, a detailed Necropsy (Autopsy) report and a letter written by a licensed veterinarian stating the exact cause of death including the description of the kitten/cat’s birth date, name, sex, color , pattern. The necropsy cost is at the expense of the Buyer. Buyer assumes the responsibility for arrangements and cost to take possession of their replacement kitten. Guarantee will not be honored if ownership changes.
3. It is not uncommon for a kitten to develop an Upper Respiratory Infection, diarrhea, teary eyes or sneezing from vaccinations or stress of leaving and entering their new home. Stress induced illnesses are NOT covered by the health guarantee. We ask that you to isolate your kitten from existing pets for at least 7 days. Katzen is NOT responsible for any veterinarian bills incurred by the Buyer once the Buyer takes possession of this kitten. All sales are final, NO RETURNS, REFUNDS, OR EXCHANGES except as outlined by the terms of this agreement.
4. Vaccination records are provided at time of sale.
5. Katzen additionally is committed to the ongoing research on HCM in the Maine Coon. We guarantee that this cat/kitten sold as a pet will either have tested negative for the MyBPC3 mutation, or said kittens parents have tested negative. This does not guarantee that your kitten will never develop HCM from another yet to be identified mutation. Should your kitten die from any inherited or congenital defect within one year from time of purchase, we will absolutely replace your kitten upon proof by necropsy. All copies of either kittens or parents negative results from WSU will be provided at the time of sale.
6. If, at any time, Breeder is made aware that the Kitten is continually ill, malnourished, abused or neglected, or that Buyer has breached any condition of the Contract, then Buyer agrees to surrender the Kitten to Breeder, unconditionally, and Buyer thereby forfeits the right to a refund of the purchase price of the Kitten, unless the return of the Kitten is due to health problems within the first (3) days, as set forth in paragraph two (2) above.

This cat be kept in clean sanitary conditions and will not be allowed to roam freely outdoors unless on a harness and closely supervised by a responsible person to for cats health and safety.
The buyer accepts the responsibility of caring for this kitten and providing properly for its welfare.
This cat will be seen buy a vet as needed throughout its’ life and will receive yearly vaccinations as needed.
If sold as a pet the buyer agrees never to breed this kitten, and to have it altered prior to reaching 7 months of age. We recommend altering between 5-6 months of age. A certificate of spaying signed by your vet is required. Once we receive the certificate we will send buyer the kitten’s registration papers. (If kitten is altered prior to sale, a line will be drawn though this section and initialed that breeder done it. You will receive the kitten’s registration papers.)
The buyer agrees that this kitten will always receive prompt, top-notch medical care, and will never be allowed to harbor parasites.
The buyer agrees never to declaw this kitten, and understands that declawing is a mutilation and a cruelty that is likely to alter the kitten's temperament and health.
The buyer agrees to provide companionship for this kitten, never leaving it alone for long periods of time without human attention. The buyer agrees to provide a generous amount of exercise for this kitten, to provide it with toys, and not to cage it.
If buyer moves from above stated address you must contact Katzen by mail, email, or phone with new information, breeder will do the same. This is for the lifetime of the kitten.
The buyer agrees if any of the above terms are disregarded, that the breeder may reclaim this kitten without a refund of the purchase price. The buyer further agrees that if items are disregarded, that the buyer must pay an additional $400.00 in damages to the breeder, that any offspring of this kitten are to be delivered to the breeder as the breeder's sole property, and that the breeder may also reclaim this kitten without refund. The buyer agrees to pay all court costs if this contract is litigated.
Purchaser agrees to keep us informed of how your kitten has grown by sending us pictures and e-mails throughout your kitten’s lifetime. You are now a part of our Maine Coon family and we love watching our babies grow.
By signing this agreement, the buyer and seller of this cat/kitten recognizes that this is a legal and binding contract between the parties. Should this contract be broken and either the buyer or seller feels it necessary to involve the courts, then the buyer agrees to have any legal matters resolved within the Franklin Co, NC (or said Co. of breeder) judicial system.
